Job Description:
We are looking for an Engineer with cheese production experience or at least dairy production experience and who can travel to plant locations mostly in Green Bay, Wisconsin and Tulare, California.
Essential job responsibilities of the Corporate Dairy Engineer.
Manage and oversee multiple capital dairy related projects simultaneously from inception through completion.
Coordinate and develop clear project scopes and cost estimates in conjunction with proper teams.
Communicate effectively with operations, quality, technical services, marketing and other internal teams to ensure project design and layout is acceptable and timelines are met.
Create and read process and instrumentation drawings for dairy related projects.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with contractors, vendors and suppliers.
Provide assistance to the operations group as directed in the area of repairs and maintenance costs and preventative maintenance programs.
Assist and provide technical support in the area of energy savings and effluent reduction with the plants.
Provide awareness of new equipment and processes in order to reduce costs within the operation.
Enforce the Company's policies and programs with contractors and vendors.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum three years engineering/project management experience within dairy, cheese, food and/or beverage industry is a plus.
Strong knowledge and experience of electrical controls and systems.
Accomplished in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Project.
Knowledge of fluids, dairy chemistry, cheese production and thermal processes.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
60% - 70% travel is required.
