Conservation Dairy Specialist / Sustainability Advisor

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Complete Conservation Dairy Assessments - including pre-work and follow up discussions with farms.

  • Drive adoption of crop, milk replacer, and feed additive inputs from Winfield, Calva, and PMI

  • Establish relationships with local counterparts

  • Position Land O'Lakes as a sustainability leader by acting as local sustainability expert. Champion sustainability initiatives by being involved in regional sustainability organizations. Understand what products and programs are available on a local level.

  • Provide guidance & facilitation of on-farm profit team meetings

  • Deliver consultative profitability and ROI analysis

  • Generate leads for Risk Management

  • Drive utilization of on-farm insight tools including MPOL

  • Develop regional sustainability strategy that rolls up to national strategy to drive continuous improvement

  • Work cross-functionally with other Member Relations team members and Land O'Lakes SUSTAIN to ensure consistent regional messaging to Land O'Lakes Member Dairies

  • Lead/coordinate across the Enterprise with dairy industry organizations/events/trade shows

  • Coordinate farm tours for customers, employees, etc. with designated member farms

  • Serve as resource for Leader Development Team

  • Assist in Dairy Elected Leaders Region breakouts and other related meetings

  • Act as liaison for advocacy opportunities with Dairy Members

  • Deliver assessment results

  • Manage and suggest Conservation Dairy products and services as they are rolled out through the Member Relations Organization and Land O'Lakes SUSTAIN

  • Rollout new programs as developed

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree, or higher, in Dairy/Ag/Sustainability or related field of study

  • 3 or more years of one, or a combination of, on farm, nutrition, seed/feed sales, Sustainability, Government or Milk Association experience\

  • Proficient use of an iPad and Microsoft Office tools

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Solid understanding of on-farm dairy operations
  • Strong ability to influence
  • Excellent relationship building & conflict managementskills
  • Self-motivated, demonstrates strong internal driven
  • Ability to be a strong collaborative partner to dairy members
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement & inspire similar mind-set in others

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
